A result on sets,with applications to vector optimization

In this paper there is stated a result on sets in ordered linear spaces which can be used to show that some properties of the sets are inherited by their convex hulls under suitable conditions. As applications one gives a characterization of weakly efficient points and a duality result for nonconvex vector optimization problems.     

On Harmonic Majorization of the Martin Function at Infinity in a Cone

This paper shows that some characterizations of the harmonic majorization of the Martin function for domains having smooth boundaries also hold for cones.     

About Regularity of Collections of Sets

The paper continues investigations of stationarity and regularity properties of collections of sets in normed spaces. It contains a summary of different characterizations (both primal and dual) of regularity and a list of sufficient conditions for a collection of sets to be regular.     

Implicit function theorem without a priori assumptions about normality

The equation F(x, σ) = 0,x ∈ K, in which σ is a parameter and x is an unknown taking values in a given convex cone in a Banach space X, is considered. This equation is examined in a neighborhood of a given solution (x _*, σ_*) for which the Robinson regularity condition may be violated. Under the assumption that the 2-regularity condition (defined in the paper), which is much weaker than the Robinson regularity condition, is satisfied, an implicit function theorem is obtained for this equation. This result is a generalization of the known implicit function theorems even for the case when the cone K coincides with the entire space X.

Free convection flow over a truncated cone embedded in a porous medium saturated with pure or saline water at low temperatures

Steady free convection boundary layer about a truncated cone embedded in a porous medium saturated with pure or saline water at low temperatures has been studied in this paper. The governing coupled partial differential equations are solved numerically using a very efficient finite-difference method. Several new parameters arise and the results are given for some specific values of these parameters. The obtained results for a Boussinesq fluid are compared with known results from the open literature and it is shown that the agreement between these results is very good.     

ON THE EXISTENCE OF POSITIVE SOLUTIONS FOR SINGULAR NEUMANN BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS

By using fixed point index theory, we consider the existence of positive solutions for singular nonlinear Neumann boundary value problems. Our main results extend and improve many known results even for non-singular cases.
